A Wicked WomanThe Bellfont Legacy, 1by Nadine Dorries

In the bestselling tradition of Poldark, The Forsyte Saga and The Clifton Chronicles, this is a sweeping nineteenth-century family saga, in which a woman must decide between love and duty.

Beatrice and Lydia Jolly are sisters and about to get married. Lydia is deeply in love with her future husband. Beatrice most definitely is not. She's not even sure why she accepted Sebastian Roscow – except she didn't want to be left as the spinster sister looking after their beloved father.

But fate is about to take a dramatic turn, plunging her into a battle between passion and duty, when, on the eve of her wedding, love at first sight threatens to sweep her away. Caught in a war between two powerful families, will Beatrice follow her heart? Or her head?

The Rt Hon. Nadine Dorries grew up in a working-class family in Liverpool. She spent part of her childhood living on a farm with her grandmother, and attended school in a small remote village in the west of Ireland. She has been MP for Mid Bedfordshire since 2005, and previously served as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. She has three daughters, and is based in Gloucestershire.
